Batemans Bay Bushwalkers celebrated our 30th Anniversary in style this month with a glamorous Dinner Dance at Nelligen Hall. Elizabeth and her Social Committee worked hard to make the evening a resounding success. As is usual with Bushwalker functions, many hands volunteered for the arrangements, from festooning the hall with flowers and greenery, providing the food, compiling photographic records, performing the entertainment, cleaning up afterwards, and much much more. So much of this work goes on behind the scenes, but you can be assured that your efforts are truly valued and appreciated by everyone who came along and enjoyed the good fellowship of bushwalking friends.
Many thanks also to Eurobodalla Shire Council who contributed $750 towards the event and thanks also to the wonderful band of musicians called Sarabande, who played some very danceable and enjoyable music throughout the evening.
We were thrilled that our Founder Member, Patron and Life Member, Jean was able to join us on the night, and cut the 30th Anniversary Celebration Cake. We hope that Jean, and other founder members present, enjoyed the Photo Book compiled by Donna which contains prints of 30 years of bushwalking photos and other snippets of Club history. Interested members can borrow the Photo Book, and subsequently buy a copy for around $30 - for further details contact Donna.
Thanks also to the entertainers who wowed the crowd with their version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Cross dressing is a signature feature of Bushwalkers' get togethers, and the tradition lives on in fine style.
