An overcast rainy day didn’t deter eight walkers from enjoying a brisk walk through open forest behind Long Beach.

The group followed trails and tracks to Wrights Creek past spotted gums and a pocket of blue gums, where due to on and off pockets of rain, we decided to have a short morning tea at Carls Mountain Road communication tower.

Undeterred we set off following trails and a track that took us to the Saligna Fire Trail.

Up and out of the boggy gully heading back to the cars when one walker commented “I think my socks have dried” before encountering an unexpected creek crossing and more boggy track.

Still a lovely and enjoyable walk through beautiful fresh bush, listening to the sounds of birds, before returning to dry clothes and a warm home.
