It was a bright winters day on a June long weekend when I led a group of eleven walkers up Pigeon House Mountain. It remained enjoyable throughout the day and soon after heading up the track we were meet with our first human obstacle who must have been up early to catch the sunrise from the summit. After that they just kept coming at us. It was great to see all of the younger people enjoying themselves in bush.
It took us approximately 4.5- 5 hours with stops. The track is more or less all steps and at the top is a metal staircase which I’m happy to say we all managed to accomplish even with the additional traffic. Please be aware of walking poles sticking off the hikers pack behind you whilst climbing up the staircase!!
We arrived back at the car park to find it full, so much so that people had had to park nearly 750 metres down the road! Overall it was a great day and thanks to all of those who helped make it happen.
